ASDEKA was formed in 2006.We originally started as 5 individual ladies of different backgrounds, ages and personalities, but we came together through an evening class learning “belly dancing”.As we learned, we laughed and enjoyed each other’s company, we all looked forward to the evening class and began socializing outside of class, our friendships became stronger and so the HAREEM began……
Janey, June, Penny, Bev and Shirl became “Asdeka” through our love of Middle Eastern Dance but it goes deeper than that….we were once told that “woman is goddess” and we all have to agree we are…
Recently, we have invited two more goddesses to our hareem, Jayne and Sam who have danced and supported us with our events this year and with their dedication and warmth it seemed the natural thing to ask them to join……
